NEW FOR 2012:

Due to lack of participation at last year’s show the Western Schooling Show has been reworked and this year will be a recognized Paint Show with some All Breed Western Classes added. All Breed Classes are open to any horse including Paint Horses. They will be PAC approved as usual.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR BOTH DAYS

  • All classes - $6 class Lead line classes – FREE
  • CLOSING DATE: Thursday, May 31, 2012
  • Post Entries will be accepted to ½ hour prior to class at $4 extra/class, maximum of $20/day. Exception leadline classes – free.
  • It is the exhibitor’s responsibility that entries are received by the show secretary on time.
  • All exhibitors and horses must have proof of liability insurance – NO PROOF, NO SHOW!
  • All horses must have and show either 2011 or 2012 Coggins test certificate.
  • Ribbons will be awarded to 6th place. No prize money. Ribbons can be exchanged (day of) for a loonie at the Secretaries Booth. Exhibitors choice.
  • Youth under the age of 18 must have a signed and properly filled out consent form or will not be permitted to show.
  • Please make cheques out to the Williamstown Spring Horse Show.

GENERAL RULES

  • No interference with/or complaints to the Judge by any exhibitor, coach or parent will be tolerated. Complaints are to be directed to the Show Chairman.
  • No schooling over courses will be permitted. A practice fence or two will be provided in the warm up area.
  • Senior/Adult – 19 as of Jan 1/12 or older.
  • Youth – under 19 years of age as of Dec 31/12.
  • Lead line participants may be of any age and must be able to sit unaided in the saddle or will be excused from the class. Lead line handler must be 16 years or older. All lead line participants must wear ASTM approved helmets.
  • Horse & rider combinations riding in the Walk-Jog/Walk-Trot classes may not enter any classes requiring a canter/lope.
  • Proper riding attire must be worn by all exhibitors.
  • Canteen will be on the premises run by North Glengarry 4-H Horse Club. We urge all exhibitors and grooms to support their fundraising effort.
  • St Johns Ambulance or equivalent will be on the grounds.
  • Water is available at the grounds. Washrooms are on the premises.
  • There are no stalls on the grounds. We urge competitors to keep the grounds as clean as possible to make the after show clean-up job easier. Remember – no one likes to clean up garbage.
  • Parking for vehicles will be on the Old Peanut Line (roadway north of the fairgrounds) if the grounds are too soggy.
  • Any funds generated from this show are turned over to the Williamstown Fairboard to aid them in keeping a safe place for local horses to show.
  • Volunteers are always welcome. Please contact the Show Manager if you are interested to volunteer or be on the show committee.
  • We value your input, please be sure to forward any good ideas to show staff.

    All persons working these shows have volunteered their time.

    Please be sure to treat them with the courtesy they deserve.

ENGLISH SHOW RULES

  • Horse show will go on rain or shine. All classes will run no matter the # in the class. Classes will be split if numbers warrant.
  • Equine Canada Show rules to be followed. Show Management reserves the right to alter any rules as required for a smoother running show.
  • Sorry but no stallions are permitted to attend this show.
  • Riding Classes: No bandages or running martingales permitted.
    : No standing martingales except in “over fences” classes. They will be permitted at this show in walk/trot classes. : All ponies will jump the same course, no adjustments will be made.
  • Pony – 14.2 hands and shorter Horse – taller than 14.2 hands
  • A measuring stick will be on hand to measure ponies and horses if required. Please be sure to enter in the appropriate division.
  • All exhibitors are to wear ASTM helmets at all times while mounted.
  • This show will be PAC approved by the American Paint Horse Association for those showing Paint Horses. Please check with APHA (www.APHA.com) for PAC information.

PAINT SHOW RULES & INFORMATION

  • This show is APHA approved, PAC approved (http://www.apha.com/pac/ for PAC information) and approved by the Eastern Ontario Paint Horse Club (EOPHC@tripod.com).
  • Horse show will go on rain or shine. Show may be moved off the Williamstown Fairgrounds to a facility with an indoor arena should the weather be too severe to run the show in Williamstown.
  • APHA rules will be followed. It is the Exhibitor’s responsibility to know the APHA rules. You can download the rule book at http://www.apha.com/forms/PDFFiles/rulebooks/2012RuleBook.pdf
  • Remember that APHA now requires all exhibitors to have APHA memberships to show at APHA shows. Memberships are not required to participate in the All Breed classes.
  • Competitors must bring original or photocopy of their membership cards and their horse’s registration certificate. All classes not marked Youth, Amateur, Novice Amateur or All Breed are OPEN classes.
  • All horses exhibited in APHA classes are required to pay a $3 APHA processing fee at each show. This is not required if you only show in the All Breed Classes.
  • Memberships to the APHA, Amateur Cards, Novice Amateur Cards and Youth memberships can be obtained at show secretaries booth prior to the show. Please allow sufficient time to fill out the forms. Payment for these forms must be made by Visa or Mastercard. APHA charges an additional $25 rush fee for Amateur, Novice Amateur and Youth cards purchased on the day of the show.
  • Membership to the Eastern Ontario Paint Horse Club will also be available on site. Payment for this membership can be made in cash or by cheque to the EOPHC.
  • This show qualifies for year end points with the Eastern Ontario Paint Horse Club (EOPHC).
  • Please note that there will be STALLIONS exhibited at this show. All exhibitors are urged to be prudent around them. Stallions are not geldings!
  • Helmets are optional in all Western Riding Classes. All youth riders must wear ASTM approved helmets in All Breed Western Game classes.
  • All Breed Western Games: 5 second penalty for knockdown of barrel or pole and loss of hat while in the ring. Horses may be led in the All Breed Gymkhana classes.
  • Stalls are available nearby for anyone requiring overnight stabling. Please contact show manager for details.
